Meet Siew: Our July - October Cover Star!
Have you met Siew? You've probably seen her around our 3 Active Monash centres, she's been with us for 11 years! Siew is our newest cover star for the July - October Group Fitness Timetable.
How long have you been with Active Monash?
Eleven fantastic years! I started with one class on a Monday at MARC and now I am teaching in all 3 centres.
What program do you teach?
I teach Tai Chi and Qigong.
How long have you been teaching?
I have been teaching for 16 years.
What do you LOVE about Group Fitness?
I love Group Fitness because it creates more learning opportunities for participants. The most rewarding part comes from the positive feedback from our participants especially when they express that they have improved their health through the class…practising Tai Chi and Qigong.
Why did you become an instructor?
I started learning Tai Chi and Qigong in 1995 for my own health benefit and well-being. Twenty-three years later my learning journey is still on-going, and I continue to improve my skills by training with my Tai Chi Master every week. With encouragement and help from my Tai Chi Master, I trained and become an instructor to share what I have learnt with others. I have learned various styles of Tai Chi bare hands and weapon forms.
