FREE Member Seminar: The Positive Power of Exercise

Presented by post-graduate psychology students from Monash University, this FREE member seminar discusses the correlation between exercise and positive mental health, giving our members all the more reason to keep up their training.  

This seminar will address the reasons why exercise can and does improve our mental health, focussing specifically on the following:  

  • How and why exercise improves wellbeing
  • How and why exercise reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression Improving sleep, energy etc., basically how exercise will improve all of the essential
  • The benefits of increased social contact from exercise
  • Psychological strength, ‘grit’, resilience that can be found mentally through physical achievement.
  • WHO chart, recommended exercise levels for adults, know how much is too much so you can get that magic dose of endorphins.  
  • Ongoing individual support and assessment will be provided as an option for attendees of the seminar.

The seminar will last 45-60 minutes, with time for member questions, and conclude with a catered morning tea. This will be catered for varied dietary requirements.

Bookings for this session will open 8:00am, Friday 4 October.

Members must book at reception to receive a ticket to the event that they will need to present on the day.
